The 1990 Summer of Sequels! The audience sounded just as disgusted as S & E over sequels, retreads, and overhype over movies. Unfortunately, these trends have worsened every year since! Too bad the general public doesn’t have the same intelligence as this audience.
Gene had the right idea when he said not to rush out to see these movies and wait for word of mouth from anyone you trust. Unfortunately, the press doesn’t care. All they do is report opening weekend grosses, as if most of cared about it! Most people seem to have forgotten that Jaws and Star Wars were made from the heart, and not the wallet!
I liked Back to the Future 3 and Die Hard 2. The rest were mostly garbage, especially Another 48 Hrs.
