  • Well, as Whoopi Goldberg said, those cartoons were a product of their time. During WWII, most of the entertainment had Japanese stereotypes that we would consider very offensive today.

    Some of the Warner Brothers and MGM DVD collections have disclaimers by Whoopi warning of the potentially offensive material. I prefer those old cartoons be shown uncut, preceded by such disclaimers.
