That was interesting. Had not seen it before today. Michael Caine on Jaws 4 – ha ha! Such a total POS movie that I can’t get the time or money back from .
Interesting how Michael Caine praised Tom Cruise in Rain Man. Siskel also singled out Cruise for praise over Hoffman in his print review. This was a really interesting special. These questions were so good and intelligent. I wonder how many of these specials they did. Another one just like this was recently posted on YouTube by andyfilm under the below title. It features another excellent line-up with Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, Steven Spielberg and Brad Pitt:
The Siskel & Ebert Interviews – 1996 Network Primetime Special
I found a record of another interview special in The Museum of Broadcast Communications archives. This might be viewable in their museum in Chicago but not online as of now. Their archive listing seems to be the only record on the internet that this special even existed other than a newspaper TV listing or two:
Roger Ebert’s Oscar Deadline – Roger Ebert interviews Oscar nominees Oprah Winfrey, James Garner, Don Ameche, Anjelica Huston, and others on the eve of the 1986 Academy Awards. [the others are apparently Geraldine Page and Jon Voight] (3/22/1986)
