  • Terrific show. I pretty much agree with Roger’s assessment and criticism of Phantom Menace, and I just don’t get why that movie has gotten so much hatred. No, it’s not as good as any of the original trilogy movies, but the story was still engaging and the effects were top notch. And I didn’t mind Jar Jar. I’m a big Star Wars fan, but not to the point of getting so pissed off anytime Lucas tinkered with his product. Really, I never cared who shot first!

I also agree with Roger that Attack of the Clones was the weakest and most boring of the prequels, and spent too much time with situations and characters that weren’t important. And I didn’t like Hayden’s portrayal of Anakin.

Too bad Gene wasn’t around when Episodes I-III were released.

    • It was nice that Roger took Gene’s son Will to see it, as he promised. And sad that Roger didn’t live to see the later episodes of Star Wars. Wonder what he would’ve thought.

  • Also nice to show the clip of 1983 with a very much alive Gene.
NOT a fan of Phantom Menace, however. I was surprised Roger like it.

    • You are right, Movieman91, I am correcting it now. Thanks!

  • Phantom Menace keeps getting flack and honestly back in 99 this movie was awesome. I fail to see what exactly is wrong with it.
